Miner chopped to death during drunken row

A 28-year-old pork knocker was chopped to death during an argument with another man at Eyelash Landing, North West District, Region One (Barima-Waini).
Dead is Trevlon Marcieo Henry, called “Mario”, of Port Kaituma, North West District.

According to preliminary investigations, Henry and a 33-year-old man, who were known to each other, were imbibing at about 10:50h on Saturday when an argument reportedly erupted between them.
During the confrontation, the 33-year-old allegedly armed himself with a cutlass and dealt Henry two chops, one to his neck and the other to his right arm, before fleeing the scene.
Henry subsequently collapsed and remained motionless.
Police ranks, accompanied by a Medex, later visited the scene, where Henry was examined and pronounced dead. His body was subsequently taken to the Matthews Ridge Hospital Mortuary, where it awaits a post-mortem examination.
Following the incident, Police ranks, assisted by public-spirited persons, conducted searches in the area and apprehended the 33-year-old suspect, who is also a pork knocker of Port Kaituma.
The suspect remains in Police custody as investigations continue.
