Minibus driver, conductor charged for rape

Roy Roach and Keron Adams

A minibus driver and a conductor were hauled before the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts on Wednesday on a rape charge.
Keron Adams and Roy Roach stood before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan, who read the charge to them.
It is alleged that on October 30, 2018 in Georgetown, Adams engaged in sexual penetration of a 12-year-old child, while Roach was charged with causing the child to have sexual penetration with Adams.
Adams, 19, is a conductor on a Route 48 minibus and resides in D Field, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, while Roach is the 41-year-old driver of the said minibus.
The prosecution is contending that the 12-year-old was a passenger in the minibus when Roach drove to a house in Georgetown and locked the child in a room with Adams.
The matter was held in-camera on Wednesday, and the two men were remanded to prison. The case will continue on May 29, 2019.
