In a meeting of the Sport giants on Tuesday, some of the key stakeholders in the future of Guyana’s sport had their first official meeting together.
Meeting with the recently appointed Director of Sport (DoS), Steve Ninvalle, was Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport, Charles Ramson Jr, and the National Sports Commission (NSC) Board, comprising Sports organiser and Chairman of the Board, Kashif Mohammad; Guyana Lawn Tennis Association (GLTA) President Christy Campbell, Guyana Hockey Board (GHB) President Phillip Fernandes, Chartered accountant Cheteram Ramdial and Dellon Davidson.
While Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) President Bissoondyal Singh was missing from the photo opportunity, Melissa Dow-Richardson was present.
It is presumed that the meeting featured ideas on the way forward and how to raise the bar of Sport in Guyana.
Meanwhile, the St. Lucia Boxing Association (SLBA) has extended congratulatory messages to its boxing colleague, Guyana’s Director of Sport, Steve Ninvalle.
“The St Lucia Boxing Association (SLBA) joins other boxing associations in the Caribbean in extending warm greetings to Steve Ninvalle, President of the Guyana Boxing Association (GBA), who was recently appointed the new Director of Sport in Guyana,” a missive from SLBA President David “Shakes” Christopher stated.
“Congratulations to my brother Steve Ninvalle on his new appointment,” Christopher said moments after Ninvalle’s appointment was published in Guyana on Sunday. “May God give him the strength, wisdom and passion to serve all sportsmen and sportswomen in Guyana and the region as Director of Sport. Congrats again, and you have the support of the boxing family within the region,” the missive concluded.
