Miss India Guyana contestants set for golf outing at Westside

Contestants from the Miss Teen India Guyana, Miss India Guyana and Mr India Guyana pageants will take part in a special golf outing at the Westside Golf Course on Saturday, July 18.
The event will run from 17:00h to 20:00h and will give members of the public an opportunity to meet the contestants while watching them participate in a series of golf activities and challenges.
Now in its fourth consecutive year, the initiative is being organised through a collaboration involving Miss India Guyana franchise holders Melicia Partab and Hashim Alli, along with Aleem Hussain and the Nexgen Golf Academy.
The programme is aimed at promoting confidence, sportsmanship, wellness and community involvement while allowing the contestants to develop new skills away from their regular pageant preparations.

During the outing, the delegates will learn the fundamentals of golf, participate in team-building exercises and display their personalities in a relaxed setting beyond the runway.
Organisers said the experience also provides the contestants with a break from their demanding preparation schedules while helping them build teamwork and confidence.
The Miss India Guyana Organisation has earned recognition for showcasing Guyana’s beauty, culture and talent internationally, with several of its representatives securing accolades at overseas competitions.
The outing will also highlight the growing appeal of golf as an inclusive sport for people of different ages and backgrounds.
Westside Golf Course is Guyana’s only public, non-membership golf facility and forms part of efforts to make the sport more accessible to the wider community.
Pageant supporters, golf enthusiasts and other members of the public are invited to attend the event, interact with the contestants and get an early look at the confidence, talent and charisma they will bring to the pageant stage.
The Westside Golf Course is located just off the Crane roundabout along the Schoonord Highway.
