As yet another beauty queen gears up to represent Guyana on the international stage, overseas-based Miss United Continents has indicated that she is ready to bring the crown home for her country.
Following an online application and interview process, 22-year-old Divya Yabindranauth was selected to represent Guyana at the Miss United Continents 2017 pageant.
The aspiring engineer who migrated at the age of 13 is currently attached to an oil company in Texas but has taken time off from her career to represent her homeland at the international platform.
Guyana Times Entertainment caught up with the beauty in the course of her one week visit to Guyana during which she expressed her anticipation for the international showdown.
“It’s been exciting and a bit nervous at the same time. So far it is going really good, I am super excited and I just can’t wait to meet the other girls,” relayed Yabindranauth.
The overseas-based Guyanese indicated that she has even tried her hand at several local pageants but has finally been awarded the opportunity to represent her country. As a result, the local ambassador indicated that she is ready to bring home the crown.
“I have been eagerly waiting to compete for Guyana. As an ambassador right now, no matter what it takes, I’m gonna do it to win that crown,” Yabindranauth confidently conveyed.
The Miss United Continents Guyana went on to say that, “This is what I’ve always wanted to do. I’ve always wanted to represent Guyana on the international stage and I finally got the opportunity and I’m gonna show them what a true ambassador I am.”
The Miss United Continents Pageant was initiated in the year 2006 with the aim of unifying countries cross the various continents. This year marks the second time Guyana will be facing off against in excess of 30 beauties for this particular title.
As such, Yabindranauth is calling on citizens for support as she embarks on this journey. Miss United Continent 2017 is set for September 24 and will be staged in Ecuador.
