Morgan’s obliterates St John’s College 13-0

Petra/Milo Schools U-18 Football…

Amidst the muddy and certainly soggy conditions, Morgan’s Learning Centre found it smooth sailing to hammer 13 goals into a listless St. John’s College unit as the Petra Organised Milo Schools under-18 Football Championships continued on Sunday at the Ministry of Education Ground, Carifesta.

Leon Richardson was on the prowl for goals once more netting a hat-trick, scoring in the 7th, 17th, and 50th. His support came from David Coates (46th) and (51st), Allister Frank (68th), Orin Moore (16th) and (61st). Osafo Matteson (25th), Carl Griffith (28th), David Blake (32nd) and Tariq Nelson (52nd) were the other marksmen.

Similarly, Pure Masters defeated Tucville Secondary 4-2 after a double by Alton Benn in the 18th and 43rd and supporting goals by Jamain Simon (4th) and Brian Harris (66th). For the defeated, Godfrey Phiilips (25th) and Julian Bamfield (58th) netted.

Former champs, Lodge Secondary were also on the winning side Turston Gordon helped them win against East Ruimveldt with a 60th minute goal.

The other match of the day was a drawn encounter between, Kingston Secondary and St. Mary’s High, with the scores locked a 3-3.

Yackym Barker(5th), Ruel Williams (15th) and Odafie Taylor (58th) were scored for Kingston while Tyrese Williams (43rd), Micheal Damon (45th) and Dominc Bottse (67th) netted for the opposition.

The round-robin matches will continue this weekend at the same venue as thirty-two secondary schools compete for the $500,000 first prize, while second, third and fourth place finishers will pocket $300,000, $200,000 and $100,000 respectively, that goes towards a school project.
