The pageant will be hosted under the theme ‘Love’s Kaleidoscope’ and will see 22 pairs competing in the junior, middle and senior categories.
The contestants are making sure that all final touches are in place to impress the judges and the audience as a whole. The highly anticipated contest is billed to commence at 20:00h. This year’s programme will be packed with lots of entertainment by some of our best artistes and of course the audience will be dazzled by the creativity of the mothers and daughters as they compete.
The pageant will also focus on the scourge of domestic violence in Guyana and as such, a special tribute will be paid to Reona Payne who was killed in April.
Reona is a past contestant of the Mother and Daughter Pageant, so the tragedy of her demise has left the organisers heartbroken, but strong to continue to raise awareness of the problem.
The pageant is organised by Supa Stylistics Promotions, which is headed by Dr Sulan Fung-Browne and her mother, Mrs Ingrid Fung.
