A mother and her son, who are accused of killing a Festival City, Georgetown labourer, were on Monday slapped with a joint murder charge and remanded to prison.
Alicia Edmonson, and her son, Malachi Kennedy, both resident of Lot 3 Perry Street, Tucville, Georgetown were charged for the murder of 36-year-old, Amaiziah Hohenkirk, a labourer of Lot 1308 Unity Place, Festival City, Georgetown.
The 42-year-old woman and her 22-year-old son, appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court and were not required to plea to the murder charge.

During that encounter, an argument broke out among them, and the group ended up at the woman’s residence, where the victim’s friend allegedly hit her with a hockey stick.
In retaliation, the woman armed herself with a knife and allegedly stabbed Hohenkirk once in the abdomen and once on each of his wrists. The injured man and his friend managed to flee the scene, and proceeded to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where Hohenkirk died while receiving medical attention.
