Mother, son charged for throwing water on each other

A mother and her son appeared on Friday before Georgetown Magistrate Leron Daly each slapped with one count of breaching the peace.
Yvonne Alder pleaded not guilty to throwing water on her son, while Andre Alder confessed to the charge after it was read to him by Magistrate Daly.
It has been alleged that on July 3, while at their Roxanne Burnham Gardens, Georgetown home, Yvonne and Andre Alder threw water on each other, causing the peace to be breached. Andre Alder told the court that his mother first threw the water on him.
According to the prosecution’s case, on the day in question, Andre Alder was playing music at an inappropriate level when his mother asked him to turn it off. He allegedly refused, and this led to an altercation, which resulted in the peace being breached.
This mother-and-son duo had recently appeared before Magistrate Daly, and had been placed on a bond to keep the peace. Andre Alder was on Friday fined $20,000 for the offence, while his mother was placed on $10,000 bail, and her case has been set to continue on July 9.
