Motie aiming to make a name for himself representing the GAW

– urges fans to continue supporting the Warriors

When the Guyana Amazon Warriors team was announced, it emerged that Guyana’s very own Gudakesh Motie was selected, after having stellar performances in the Super50 Cup 2020/21.
Motie will now gear up for the Warriors in the 2021 edition of the Hero CPL, and will certainly be looking to make a name for himself.

Motie will be looking to take his form into CPL

In an exclusive interview with this publication, he was asked how he felt at being selected by the Warriors franchise. Motie responded, “It’s a great feeling to be selected with Guyana Amazon Warriors. It’s an opportunity I always looked forward to.
“Playing in the USA has given me opportunity to play T20 tournaments, which helped with my preparation and confidence leading up to CPL.I am looking to maximise on every opportunity I get to perform at my best, and make a name for myself. I juast want to encourage the Amazon Warriors’ fans to continue supporting GAW and, hopefully, we can take it one step further this year.”
In the recently concluded Super50 Cup 2020/21, Motie bagged a total of 17 wickets from the 7 matches he played at an economy rate of 4.56. He also had impressive bowling figures of 4/45 and a bowling average of 16.64.
The slow left-arm orthodox bowler has played a total of 29 First Class matches and bagged 100 wickets with an economy rate of 2.49, while in his List A career he has played 18 matches, taking 27 wickets with an economy rate of 4.20.
He has also played the LA Open T20 tournament, where he came in at fourth in the entire tournament with 11 wickets at an average of 14.09 at an economy rate of 5.96.
He has also proved his worth with both bat and ball in the ongoing Caribbean Fest 40 Overs Tournament 2021 Season being played in the USA, representing the Galaxy CC. Currently, after 6 games with the bat, he has scored a total of 206 runs at an average of 51.50 with a strike rate of 151.47 and a high score of 108. With the ball, he has bagged 15 wickets with an economy rate of 3.99 and an average of 8.89, with best bowling figures of 4-22.
