A motorcyclist is now suffering from a fractured right foot, sustained following a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Brickdam and Manget Place, Georgetown on Thursday.
The injured man is 65-year-old Conrad Parks of Michelle Street, Sophia, Greater Georgetown.
Based on reports received, motorcar PRR 4625, driven by a 65-year-old man, was proceeding along Manget Place when the driver failed to adhere to the stop sign and traffic light at Brickdam.
The car continued across the intersection, and in so doing, its left-side front portion collided with the right-side front portion of Parks’s motorcycle, CH 7866.
As a result, both the motorcyclist and pillion rider – Ingrid Waterman, 54, of Sophia – fell and received injuries about their bodies.
Waterman was picked up by the driver of the motorcar in a conscious state and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital, while Parks was also picked up in a conscious state and placed by public-spirited citizens into an ambulance that took him to the said medical facility.
Waterman was treated and sent away, while Parks has been admitted a patient at the GPHC.
A breathalyzer test conducted on the driver of the motorcar detected no trace of alcohol in his system. Investigations are ongoing.
