MSC hosts clash of the titans tonight

New Era/Cell Smart Mohamed’s Enterprise Futsal Tournament…

Semifinals action kick off tonight when the final four teams standing in the 3rd annual New Era Cell Smart Mohamed’s Enterprise Futsal Tournament take to the hard court at the McKenzie Sports Club from 20:00h with one thing on their minds, victory.
It will be interesting to see who fans will get behind when two of the crowd-favourite teams go head to head in the first semifinal of the night. In action in the curtain raiser will see Hustlers take on Good Fellas with a place in the championship game at stake.
Debutants, Good Fellas is having a string of good performances in the tournament this season and have been lead by last season’s Most Valuable Player (MVP), Clarence “Shark” Huggins. In the previous edition of the annual tournament, “Shark” turned out for defending champions, Magic Stars. Huggins, through his nimble footwork and play making ability has seen his team come from behind and dispose of customs United in the quarter final and Humming Birds earlier in the tournament.
However, “Shark” has not had to do all the work by himself as his team is one of the more organized in the competition with the likes of Deshawn Joseph and Mark McLean who have both made considerable contributions to see their team make it this far.
On the other hand, the flair and fashion in which Hustlers go about their business on the field is one which draws the attention of the crowd as they are entertained with not only good ball handling but intense skills displaying by some bizarre ball ta

Hustlers have made massive strides in the competition, most notably, sending West Side Ballers packing. In the lime light for the boys in black are Jermaine “Brown Boy” Scotland who is the leading goal scorer of the team so far as well as Deon “Crab” Carter, Anthony Sancho, Kang, Kwame and others who are ready to make it happen at all costs.
In the second semi final contest, new blood Team Empire will face their most challenge when they face the defending champions, Magic stars.
Empire has had a good run to the tournament so far and with the likes of some of the better players in Linden it will be a treat to see who will come out on top. Empire boasts the likes of Kevin Beaton, Curt Johnson, Trenton Lashley and Benny Neble, Calvin Drakes, and 13-year-old Jermaine Maison who will all be itching to put their name in the record books.
Meanwhile, the defending champs will not want to take Empire easily and would like to continue their winning ways. With players such as Steffon Tappin, captain Jermain Grandison, Kevin Sears and others it will be interesting to see who emerges into the finals.
The champions will walk away with the first prize of $400,000 along with trophies, while the second place team will get $150,000 and a trophy. The third place team will get $75,000 and trophy and the fourth team will get a trophy.
Other prizes are on offer for the MVP, Best goalkeeper and Best young player.
