Murder accused to face Judge, jury on March 3

The trial of Sherwin Clarke and Godfrey Gill, who were accused on August 21, 2016, of the murder of a Better Hope, East Coast Demerara businessman will commence before Justice Sandil Kissoon and a 12-member jury at the High Court in Demerara on March 3, 2020.

Dead: David Ramkissoon

According to reports, the body of 76-year-old David Ramkissoon also known as “Short Man”, a father of five, was discovered in a pool of blood with his throat slit in the living room of his home by his son.
It was reported that the man’s son had just returned home after spending a day at the creek with family members when he made the gruesome discovery.

Godfrey Gill and Sherwin Clarke

The police stated that Clarke and Gill had a dispute over money stolen from Ramkissoon’s house not being shared equally and squealed on each other. It was reported that they confessed to the killing a week after they were captured by the police.
State Prosecutors Tuanna Hardy, Tiffini Lyken and Nafeeza Baig have been assigned to this case.
