Nail technician charged for leaking explicit photos on social media

A 26-year-old nail technician was on Monday charged for leaking explicit photos of her aunt and cousin when she made her appearance at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
Merissa Waterman of Lot 56 David Street, Kitty, Georgetown, was arraigned before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan.
The first charge against the nail technician stated that between January 30 and 31, 2021, at Kitty, she used a computer system to transmit data that was explicit to humiliate Latoya Cameron, thus causing her distress.
Additionally, it was stated that between January 30 and 31, 2021, at Kitty, Waterman used a computer system to transmit data that was explicit to humiliate Deon James, thus causing her distress.
Waterman pleaded not guilty to both charges.
Meanwhile, Cameron told the court that Waterman is her cousin. She added that James is also Waterman’s aunt.
The defendant was represented by Attorneys-at-Law Mohammed Alli and Yashmini Singh, who made a successful bail application. Waterman was released on $20,000 bail and the case will continue on May 24. (G15)
