NAMILCO employee detained, charged for escaping Police custody

A NAMILCO employee was on Wednesday granted bail by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan for escaping Police custody.
Trevor Xaviera, 24, of James Street, Albouystown, was not required to plead to the charge when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
It is alleged that on September 3, 2016 at the Georgetown Public Hospital Police Outpost and while being confined under Police guard on a charge of simple larceny, he escaped from custody.
The defendant attempted to explain to McLennan “de whole scene”; however, he was not awarded an opportunity to speak.
He was granted bail in the sum of ,000 and would next appear before Magistrate Fabayo Azore on September 26.
