NAMILCO joins support for Petra Futsal Championship

The National Milling Company (NAMILCO) on Thursday joined the list of illustrious sponsors for the 2nd Petra Organization Futsal Championships which is currently on at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue.
Banks DIH under their GT Beer and Star Party Rentals are other companies who have pledges their support towards the exciting Futsal Championship and the milling company have come on board pledging the second place prize of 0,000.
On hand to receive to the sponsorship cheque at the NAMILCO’s Agricola Headquarters, was Co-Director of the Petra Organization Troy Mendonca who expressed grave appreciation for the company’s continued support.
Mendonca outlined the success of the tournament highlighting the fact that it is one which gives community–based teams a chance to organize themselves and then showcase their skills. “Our communities have been plagued by social ills and the Petra Organisation believe we can bridge that gap through sport which will help make life easier, healthier and happier and we are happy that NAMILCO is on board with the Petra Futsal that targets grassroot teams that aim to put on keen competition,” Mendonca highlighted.
The Co-Director continued to be in high praise of the teams since many, if not all have structure attached to their formation but yet still showcase discipline and camaraderie.

Finance Controller Fitzroy McLeod said that the organization shares a similar emphasis on providing a public service.
McLeod outlined the aim of the company is to provide a reliable and quality service for its consumers and they will continue their investment in the field of sports.
“We have been in the food business for 48 years in Guyana and with our wheat foods and health foods being of the highest quality we believe that all the people we serve deserve the same, so we are proud to be partners with Petra for the second consecutive tournament to put on an event that exceeds in quality of previous years,” McLeod noted.
Last evening would have been the final night of the group stages which means that  eight teams have progressed to the quarter-final rounds which begins on Tuesday.
Winner of the tournament will receive $400,000 and the championship trophy while third and fourth place finishers walk away with $100,000 and $50,000 respectively.
The event is slated to conclude on Easter Saturday, April 15.
