Narine’s brilliance leads Majestics to CCLPD title

— cops MVP prize

Action continued in the final of the Commonwealth Cricket League Premier Division with MMZ Cricket Club defeating Deccan Challengers in a thrilling 25-over encounter played in Eisenhower State Park in Long Island, USA.

The victorious Majestics team

Put in to take first strike, Deccan scored 169 all out in 24.5 overs. This score seemed below par for a powerful Majestics’ lineup, but those players knew they could defend the total, as they boasted Derick Narine and Chris Patadin at the top of the order.
As predicted, Narine and Patadin easily annihilated the opposition. The pair took their team over the line, ending on 173-0 in 12.4 overs. Narine ended on 80 off 47 balls, which included 6 boundaries and 7 towering maximums; while Patadin supported with a quickfire 74 off 30 balls, which included 8 boundaries and 5 maximums.
