National dart players need support

In their quest to participate at the Barbados Darts Festival and Trinidad and Tobago Darts Association (T&TDA) Chan Ramnarine Classic, national players Sudesh Fitzgerald and Lallchand Rambharose are seeking the support of corporate Guyana.
Fitzgerald, who is the national and former Caribbean Champion and Rambharose have been attending the Barbados Festival since it originated and have been successful with several top finishes at the event.
Meanwhile it will be a first for both of the players to participate in the Chan Ramnarine Classic since it is a first for that tournament. Invitation was sent directly to Fitzgerald and his team from president of the Caribbean Darts Association and the President of the Trinidad and Tobago Darts Association.
However it will not be possible for the players to make it to these tournaments without sponsorship. To date Dr. Terrence Joseph a familiar face around the local darts association has been the only person to make a contribution but a lot more is needed for the two-man team to participate according to Fitzgerald.
The funds raised will go directly to Accommodation, airfares, entrance fees and meals.
The two tournaments will take place during the month of November with the Barbados Festival occurring between November 11-14 while the Trinidad Classic will take place on November 26 and 27. The prizes for the two events amount to U.S $12,000.
While participating in the two tournaments the players will feature in the singles, doubles and mixed nation categories.
Meanwhile, former national champion Norman Madhoo who resides in Florida has signal his intention to once again participate in the Barbados darts festival.
Persons interested in supporting these players can contact Fitzgerald on telephone number 616-2039.
