National male basketball team for 3-day tour to Barbados
The national male basketball team will depart these shores on June 8 for Barbados as they intensify preparations for the Caribbean Basketball Championships (CBC) by engaging in a three-day tour to the island.
It is understood the traveling squad will consist of 12 players, Coaches, their manager and trainer. The CBC tournament is set for Suriname from June 15-30.
The current training squad includes a number of overseas-based players, led by Gordon James, Shawn James, Delroy James, Anthony Moe, Ray Victor, Kevin Mickle, Kevon Wiggins, Richard Mohandatt, Nikon McGregor and Juon Nicholson. The Guyana-based basketball stars being called for trials are: Shaine Webster, Timothy Thompson, Shelroy Thomas, Stanton Rose, Harold Adams, Orlando Glasgow, Terron Welch, Chris Williams, Travis Burnett, Dominique Vincente, Nathan Saul, Dave Causeway, Travis Belgrave, Akeem Crandon, Nikkoloi Smith, Domair Gladstone and Curt English. Other overseas-based players are under consideration.
The squad’s daily training starts on Sunday, May 27, 2018 from 20:00h; all training sessions will be held at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
