NSC Junior Badminton tournament: Rambirche, Beharry emerge as triple champions
…Alexander grabs U-19 title
The National Sports Commission (NSC) Junior National Badminton Tournament concluded on Saturday after three days of exciting play at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue; with Xavio Alexander emerging the winner of the U-19 Boys’ Singles and Mishka Beharry the U-19 Girls’ Singles champion.
In the U-15 Boys’ Singles, Ruel Rambirche copped the first prize and on the distaff side, Malia Haley.

In the Under-11 category, Ethan Bulkan won the Boys’ Singles and Anjaneysa Godette, the girls.
There were two triple champions coming out of the tournament in the Under-15 category, Rambirche got gold in the Boys’ Singles, Boys’ Doubles (with Avinash Ramnarine) and the Mixed Doubles (he teamed up with Gianna Ramnarine). The GBA hasn’t had a Boys’ Triple Champion since Narayan Ramdhani. The other triple champion – in the Under-19 Category – is Mishka Beharry who secured gold medals in the Under-19 Girls Singles, U-19 Doubles (with Leshaunte Berkeley) and the Mixed Doubles (with Alexander).
The GBA expressed its gratitude to the Director of Sports (DoS), Steve Ninvalle and the NSC for supporting the tournament.
