Oudit shatters records on way to title

…Rahim is male champion

Lisa Oudit who trains at Buddy’s Gym’s erased a couple of records on her way to claiming the Overall Best Lifter title for the females while Berbician Vijai Rahim of the Hardcore Barbell Club reigned for the males when the Guyana Amateur Powerlifting Federation (GAPF) held its Fitness Express sponsored RAW Nationals on Sunday.
Held at the Saints Stanislaus College, Brickdam, Georgetown, Oudit who competed in the 84Kg category set new records in the Squat, bench Press, Deadlift and Total categories.

In the Squat lift, Oudit squatted 130.5kg to obliterate Jackey Toney’s previous record while her Bench Press of 60.5kg also bettered Toney’s previous record.
She (Oudit) also set new records for Deadlift and Total which were all held by Toney. The new Deadlift record stands at 135.5kg, while the new Total record is 326.5kg.
Upper Demerara Barbel Club’s Colin ‘Mr. Clean’ Chesney powered his way to a squat of 700lbs to set the stage for his supremacy in the 120kg Male Masters 1 and Open divisions.
Meanwhile Rahim, who moved up to the 74kg class took the top spot ahead of Donnell Perry of Life Fitness Gym.
Total Fitness Gym’s Arif Immamdeen also set new records in the 66kg class when he set new Junior National Squat, Deadlift and Total records, erasing his old marks in the process.
Immamdeen’s new Squat record now stands at 175kg, Deadlift record at 215kg and his Total record is 485kg.
