Dear Editor,
Elder Green, who I think is Hamilton Green, claimed that he was prevented from driving along Wight’s Lane because he did not have a pass.
Editor, while living in Guyana, I knew that the Police Traffic Department usually informs the public about road closures during certain events. I do not think Green was going to visit any friends. He claimed that he was part of the protest on Water Street Kingston, and my guess is that he was checking out to find a way for him and his followers to get to the Marriott.
Further, I do not know how a man who is almost one hundred years old is allowed to drive in such a congested city. I am sure he can afford to employ a driver, because he got a lucrative pension because of Charrandas Persaud, who is regretful of supporting it.
Regards,
Kenneth Singh
