Overzealous crowd puts final on hold

The highly anticipated final of the Corona Futsal tournament was placed on hold after heated exchanges between fans on Saturday evening at the National Gymnasium.
In a release by the organisers on Sunday, they stated, “the finals between Sparta Boss and Bent Street was forced to stop at half time due to a ruckus between a male and his female counterpart.
The decision was taken to allow the police to conduct their duties and in consideration of the safety for the fans and players. The Petra Organisation will be meeting the different stake holders in the coming days and will advise on the status of the game”.
The final billing towards being a thriller be curtailed at half-time with the champs ahead via goals from   Gregory Richardson (4th) and Jermin Junior (6th). Leopold Street earned a walk-over from Alpha Warriors in the third-place match.
