‘Padlock’ too though to get pass

Andre ‘Padlock’ Green has chalked another win in Berbice cycling when he won the Franco Crawford 30-miler on Sunday in the ancient county.

Green out-peddled Andrew Hicks in a close finish to win the race. Sponsor of the event UK based Guianese businessman and member of the Flying Ace cycle Club, Franco Crawford rode in third in the race which commenced at the Number 51 Police Station on the Corentyne and finished at Main and Alexander Streets in New Amsterdam.

Brian Harris in a return to competitive cycling finished fourth ahead of Syborne Fernandez and Curtis Dey in that order after finished fourth in was third after.

Green grabbed four of the ten sprint point prizes available, Hicks three, Ralph Seenarine two and Rokeel Gorden one.

Eleven riders completed the race.

Shivnarine Bhowandin was the only BXM rider to participate in the day’s activity.

Winners received cash incentives along with cycle spare parts as incentives while everyone who completed the race received a complete cycling outfit.
