Pan Am team ‘all set’ for Santiago 2023

…Minister Ramson and President Munroe Extend well wishes to Guyana’s Pan Am Games Team

A hybrid meeting convened in the Boardroom of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport on Friday 13th October formed part of the new protocol between the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport; National Sports Commission and Guyana Olympic Association, as it relates to meeting with national athletes to ensure all systems are in place to aid their performance and wellbeing, and to wish them well.
Minister Charles Ramson Jr. met with Guyana’s athletes and officials selected for the 2023 edition of the Pan American Games in a hybrid format at his Ministry’s Main Street conference room.

Sport Minister Charles Ramson Jr.

Minister spoke to the athletes and extended good wishes on behalf of himself and the Government and people of Guyana. He individually spoke to the respective managers, coaches and athletes of each team, engaging them on their preparedness, queried if there were any challenges or aspects they believed could be worked on collaboratively to achieve improvement, and the athletes’ prospects at the games.
He urged the athletes to do their best, be proud representatives, and use the opportunity as a building block to achieve greater heights in all aspects of their careers as athletes and in their general development.
President Godfrey Munroe of the Guyana Olympic Association was present with members of his Executive Committee. He delivered a charge and wished all the athletes well on behalf of the G.O.A.
A key feature of Guyana’s representation is the multiplicity of disciplines, of which we have qualified athletes for at the games.
Guyana will be represented in the disciplines of Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Boxing, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Swimming and Weight Lifting. Esport Chef de Mission is Mr. Deion Nurse.
