Parika man succumbs to injuries

The 37-year-old motorcyclist, who was involved in an accident after allegedly losing control of his bike, CJ 4677, succumbed to his injuries at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) in the wee hours of Sunday.
Dead is Veyjai Indrogo of Lot 4 Parika, EBE.
The accident occurred on Saturday at De Kinderen Public Road, East Bank Essequibo (EBE), at about 03:00h.
Reports are that motor car PWW 8179, which was being driven by a 39-year-old resident of Leonora, West Coast Demerara (WCD), was proceeding west along the southern carriageway of the public road and was in the process of negotiating a turn when Indrogo, who was proceeding east along the northern carriageway, allegedly lost control of his motorcycle.
He then reportedly collided with the front right side of the motor car.
Indrogo was picked up in a semi-conscious state and rushed to the Leonora Cottage Hospital, WCD.
Upon arriving at that health facility, Indrogo was treated and then transferred to the West Demerara Regional Hospital. Hours later, the motorcyclist was then transferred to the GPHC for further specialised care and treatment.
However, he succumbed to his injuries two hours after being admitted at the GPHC.
Meanwhile, the 39-year-old driver, who passed a breathalyser test was released on station bail. Investigations are continuing.
