Patentia man robbed by armed men

The Police are on the hunt for two men who on Monday evening executed an armed robbery on a Patentia, West Bank Demerara (WBD) resident.
The robbery was committed about 20:30h on Daniel Street, Patentia, by two males – one of whom was armed with a cutlass and the other, a knife.
Based on reports received, the victim, Junior Seecharran, 20, was walking along Daniel Street on his way home, conversing on his mobile phone when the two suspects approached him, placed the cutlass to his neck and demanded that he hand over his mobile phone.
Out of fear for his life, Seecharran threw the phone on the roadway and the suspect who was armed with the knife picked up same and instructed him to run.
Without hesitation, the victim ran home and subsequently contacted the Police. The Police in the company of the traumatised victim visited the scene of robbery where they searched for anything of evidential value, but came up empty-handed.
The Police have since taken a report from the victim and are on the lookout for the two men who match the description provided.
Over the past day, several persons were relieved of their personal belongings by armed men. Only a week ago, Police in Berbice noted that there has been a surge in petty robberies and break-and-enter-and-larceny throughout Region Six (East Berbice-Corentyne).
