President’s College (PC) produced a dominant display on Thursday to capture the Youth Basketball Guyana (YBG) East Coast “Country” regional title, defeating Plaisance Secondary 54-12 in the final at the President’s College hard court.
Led by Most Valuable Player and Player of the Game Romarion Wolfe, PC controlled the contest from start to finish to secure the regional championship. Wolfe finished with 16 points and three rebounds, while Terron Mohabir added a game-high 17 points. Dontrell Ross also made a valuable contribution with six points and seven rebounds.

Plaisance Secondary struggled to keep pace with the champions but received efforts from Christopher Ram, who scored seven points, and Trevor James, who added five.
Earlier in the third-place playoff, Golden Grove Secondary defeated Hope Secondary 27-2 to secure the final podium position.
Kellon Burke was named Player of the Game after an outstanding all-round performance of 17 points and 11 rebounds. Shawn Archer supported with six points as Golden Grove comfortably overcame Hope Secondary.
The East Coast “Country” region forms part of YBG’s nationwide schools programme aimed at developing young talent and increasing participation in the sport across the country.
The regional tournament was sponsored by Edward B Beharry Ltd, G-Boats Inc, the National Sports Commission, the Ministry of Education and Banks DIH Ltd.
