PC, Plaisance Secondary advance to YBG East Coast regional final

President’s College (PC) and Plaisance Secondary booked their places in the Youth Basketball Guyana (YBG) East Coast “Country” regional final after recording semi-final victories in contrasting fashion on Tuesday.
PC secured the most dominant result of the day, defeating Golden Grove 54-0 to advance to Thursday’s championship game at the PC Hard court in Golden Grove, East Coast Demerara. Plaisance Secondary, meanwhile, had to work much harder for their place in the final, edging Hope Secondary 20-17 in a closely contested encounter.

In the opening semi-final, Plaisance Secondary held off a determined Hope Secondary side to claim a three-point victory. Trevor James was named Player of the Game after pulling down 11 rebounds while contributing five points. Christopher Ram led the scoring for the winners with seven points, while Prince Mars added six points and four rebounds.
Hope Secondary was led by Dion Moore, who recorded a game-high 10 points along with eight rebounds. Asaiah Browne chipped in with six points, but it was not enough to prevent Plaisance from securing the win and a place in the regional final.
The second semi-final was a one-sided affair as PC overwhelmed Golden Grove from start to finish. Romarion Wolfe earned Player of the Game honours after producing 17 points and five rebounds. Dontrell Ross provided strong support with 14 points, while Terron Mohabir added nine points as President’s College cruised to victory.
The results set up a showdown between PC and Plaisance Secondary for the East Coast “Country” regional title today, Thursday, June 11, at the PC Hard court.
