Pedestrian, motorcyclist die in separate accidents

A 28-year-old man of La Bonne Intention (LBI), East Coast Demerara (ECD), lost his life on Sunday after he was struck down by a motor lorry as he was crossing the Soesdyke-Linden Highway.
Dead is Steven Dhanbeer.
Reports are that the accident occurred in the vicinity of Silver Hill. According to Police, the motor lorry, GNN 1385, with trailer TJJ 3014, was being driven by a 27-year-old of Anna Catherina, West Coast Demerara (WCD).

Dead: Keshawn Wray who was involved in an accident at Sandy Babb Street and Vlissengen Road, Georgetown

It was reported that the motor lorry was proceeding north along the western side of the road when the front portion collided with the pedestrian whom the lorry driver claimed ran across the road from west to east.
As a result of the collision, the LBI resident fell onto the roadway and sustained injuries to his body. He pronounced dead at the scene.

Vlissengen Road accident
Meanwhile, Keshawn Wray, who was involved in an accident on July 1 at about 23:40h at the intersection of Sandy Babb Street and Vlissengen Road, succumbed to his injuries.
Reports are motor car HD 896, which was being driven by a 52-year-old man of Section A Sophia, Georgetown collided with motorcycle CK 3612 ridden by 26-year-old Wray of Lot 192 Prospect, East Bank Demerara, and a 21-year-old pillion rider.

The accident scene at Silver Hill, Soesdyke-Linden Highway

The driver of the motor car alleged that he was proceeding south along the eastern carriageway in the western drive lane of Vlissengen Road and made a right turn proceeding west along the southern drive lane onto Sandy Babb Street, whilst the traffic light signal was showing green in his direction.
It is alleged that motorcycle CK 3612 was proceeding north along the western carriageway of Vlissengen Road and on the approach of the intersection, the motorcycle failed to stop and collided with the left side of the car.
As a result of the collision, the motorcyclist and the pillion rider fell onto the roadway.
Police said that they were both picked up in a conscious stated by an ambulance and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where they were both admitted as patients.
However, at about 05:00h on Sunday, Wray succumbed to his injuries.
