Pele, Santos win as Petra/Corona Beer Football tournament continues

Pele FC and Santos FC were the latest victors when the Petra-organization/Corona Beer football tournament continued on Friday night at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground.
Pele bested Eastveldt FC through strikes from Thairys Payne in the 21st minute and Darwin George in the 61st minute, to win 2-nil.
In the second game of the night, Santos needed a goal in injury time to defeat Flamingo FC in an entertaining matchup which ended 2-1 after the final whistle.
Kacy John opened the scoring for Santos in the 4th minute, and that team would hold on to the lead until the 78th minute, when Leon Yaw equalized for Flamingo.
However, as always, football is full of surprises, and Travis Cotton poked one home in injury time to win the game for Santos.
In a game defined by penalties, Riddim Squad and Northern Rangers drew 1-1.
Sceyon Hope successfully converted a penalty kick in the 17th minute to put Riddim Squad in the lead, but Northern Rangers would equalize through a penalty kick of their own in the 67th minute. The tournament will continue tonight at the same venue, as GFC clash with Black Pearl FC while Western Tigers take on Beacons FC, and Police FC face Camptown FC in the final match of the night. Action begins at 17:00hrs.
