Phone cards theft lands Cummings Lodge man in court

A 27-year-old man, of Cummings Lodge, Greater Georgetown, found himself before the courts on Wednesday after he reportedly stole a cellphone along with $20,000 worth of phone cards.
In the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts on Wednesday morning, Mohammed Hamid denied that he robbed Jean Semple of the phone cards along with her cellphone. The items were valued at $22,000 and $52,000 respectively.
The facts of the case were not presented in court; however, Hamid was granted $20,000 bail. The case will be called again on February 28.
