Police in B Division continue to put a dent in the drug trade. A number of drug eradication exercises were conducted over the past few days. The most recent was conducted on Saturday at Sandhill, Berbice River, where about $18 million in ganja was destroyed.
During the exercise, over 5000 cannabis plants ranging between three and four feet in height were destroyed. Based on the value of the plants it is estimated to be around $11.8 million.
In addition, approximately 3000 dried cannabis plants valued another $7 million were also found at that location. No arrests were made.
