Police hunt suspect, reputed wife

Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum on Friday confirmed that Police are hunting a man and his reputed wife believed to be involved in the disappearance of Shonette Savory of Prospect, East Bank Demerara (EBD) who disappeared on August 26 last.

The head of the Criminal Investigations Department told Guyana Times that members of the Major Crime Unit received information that the suspect did some construction work and the possibility existed that the woman’s remains were buried under the structure.

It was on that basis that several ranks visited the home of the suspect at Belle West, West Bank Demerara on Friday, where they excavated the area but came up empty handed. He also noted that special sniffer dogs were also used to comb

the area, but again nothing was detected.

Nevertheless, he noted that the Police will continue to work on leads provided to them in an attempt to locate the missing woman. The 37-year-old woman of Lot 222 Last Street Prospect, EBD, was last seen visiting the suspects on August 29.
