The Guyana Police Force (GPF) on Monday conducted separate outreach activities in Regions One (Barima-Waini) and Eight (Potaro-Siparuni) as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen community engagement and build positive relationships with residents and youths.
In Region One, ranks attached to the Port Kaituma Police Station, Sub-Division Two, participated in Career Day activities at Sunshine Nursery School and Four Miles Nursery School between 09:00h and 10:20h.

The activity was led by Assistant Superintendent P Narine, Officer-in-Charge of Sub-Division Two, along with Corporal 23639 Venture, Constable 26033 Persaud, and Constable 26863 Joseph.
According to the Police Force, the Career Day exercise was aimed at exposing pupils to different career paths while helping them understand the importance of education, discipline, responsibility, and making positive choices from an early age.
During the engagement, the ranks interacted with pupils and provided insight into the work of the GPF while encouraging them to remain focused on their education and future goals.
Assistant Superintendent Narine also highlighted the role teachers play as mentors in helping children understand the connection between schoolwork and future careers. Pupils were further encouraged to develop confidence, respect, and a sense of responsibility as future leaders.
Meanwhile, in Region Eight, Commander of Regional Division Eight, Senior Superintendent R Stanley, led a community outreach and walkabout exercise at Kato Village, North Pakaraimas, between 10:20h and 11:30h.
The exercise included Chief Inspector M Clarke, officer-in-charge of Sub-Division One; Sergeant 21671 Mendonsa; Sergeant 23628 Nandram; and other ranks.
During the outreach, Police ranks met with residents and listened to concerns and challenges affecting the community. Discussions focused on identifying emerging security issues, encouraging residents to remain security-conscious, and promoting cooperation in creating a safer community.
Residents were also engaged on the importance of monitoring foreign nationals visiting the community and the proposed establishment of a community policing group to support safety and security within the village.
According to the Police Force, residents welcomed the initiative and pledged to continue working closely with law enforcement to help maintain safety within the community.
