A miner was on Monday morning arrested following the discovery of some 10.9 kilograms (over 22 pounds) of compressed marijuana at his residence at 111 Miles Mahdia, Potaro River, Region Eight (Potaro-Siparuni).
The marijuana was found concealed in two 10-gallon plastic pails.
Police in a statement related that the miner called “Glasses” has been on the Police radar for quite some time. He remains in custody, and is expected to answer to the charge of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking when he appears at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts today.
