President of the Association Jiaram Ramdeen was one of the integral speakers of the night as he gave a detailed report of the activities the Association hosted for the year 2016 while highlighting some of the plans that are expected to come on board for the coming year.
Coordinator of the Association, Paul D’Anjou lamented on activities associated with the game. He said some people outside of the Association are soliciting funds and hold private games which are unlawful and monies collected are unaccountable, advising that such practices must stop.
The president said that he “always advised that if anyone wants to hold such activities they must first form a club and register with the Association. Registration fees is $1,000 and the monthly dues is also $1,000.”
Charles Hetemeyer, who is the finance Secretary, escalated on the downfall of members by not paying their monthly dues. He added that the only way forward is by paying on the spot his dues in full for the year 2017. By this example other members also followed and paid in full for January 2017.
As it related to the awards, D’Anjou was given an award for his tireless efforts in garnering funs for the Association while Khemraj Pooranmall received his award for the best player of the year.
Pooranmall won all five games he contested during the year and was given a cash incentive while the other recipients received gifts. Marilyn Ali Secretary of the Association was awarded for the effective role she performed as Secretary while the President was also awarded for his astute leadership.
