The Port Mourant Turf Club came out victorious in the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) Under-21 tournament, defeating Rose Hall Canje by two wickets at Port Mourant Community Centre.
Asgarrali Nabbie sealed the deal for Port Mourant with his unbeaten 21 in a low-scoring thriller as the home team chased down Rose Hall Canje’s total of 122, reaching 123/8 in 31.1 overs.
Rose Hall Canje posted a total of 122 all out in 33.2 overs, with Sanjay Algoo scoring 43 and Michael Newland Jr hitting 25.
Bowling for Port Mourant Cricket Club, Romeo Deonarine had 3-19, while Navin Boodwah had 3-21. Salim Khan and Doodnauth Seemangal had two wickets each.
Port Mourant reached 123 for 8 in 31.1 overs, with Rampersaud Ramnauth scoring 29, supported by Nabbie’s 27 not out.
Bowling for Rose Hall Canje Cricket Club, Avishkar Beharry and Romario Ramdehol had two wickets each.
