Pregnant woman hospitalised after hit-and-run

Natasia Smartt of Lot 8909 Critchlow Street, Tucville, Georgetown is nursing broken left and right legs at the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPHC) after she became the victim of a hit-and-run incident that occurred during the wee hours of Friday morning.

According to Natalia McKenzie, sister of the 31-year-old Smartt, the family is of the opinion that the person who committed the act is known to the family and is someone with whom Smartt has a dispute.
However, the family is yet to file a formal complaint with the Police.
“My sister is pregnant for this man (name given) and he has a wife. They had some cuss-out on Facebook, where the man wife tell me sister to leave her husband, but my sister like she really loves this man. My sister wouldn’t lose her life, but the baby,” McKenzie related.
“All I know is that some people called me and told me my sister is in the hospital. I didn’t even know she was not at home,” McKenzie further related.
McKenzie said Smartt is the mother a seven-year-old child.
She worked as a security guard, but resigned after she became pregnant.
