Prison escapee recaptured at Parika

Thirty-two-year-old Ganesh Dhanraj, who escaped from the Lusignan Prison, East Coast Demerara, on April 20 was caught by Police in a car at Parika, East Bank Essequibo (EBE), on Saturday.

Police acting on information received went to the Parika Bus Park where the escapee was seen in a motor car at approximately 14:10h. He was questioned and then escorted to the Parika Police Station where he was further questioned.
Prison authorities, on receipt of the notification, went to the Parika Police Station where the inmate’s identity was further confirmed. He was later transported back to the Lusignan Prison.
Dhanraj was among four who escaped from the Lusignan Holding Bay on April 20. He was on remand for murder. The escapees: Kevin Padmore was recaptured on May 5, in a house at La Bonne Intention (LBI), East Coast Demerara, while 24-year-old Sasenarine Bisnauth was recaptured in the cane fields aback Beterverwagting Sideline Dam, ECD, on April 30.
Still on the run is 26-year-old Kenraul Perez, who was on remand for murder.
