Private criminal charges against Lowenfield withdrawn, still faces charges by State

The private criminal charges against Chief Election Officer (CEO) of the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM), Keith Lowenfield has been withdrawn. However, he is still facing electoral fraud charges brought by the State.

This was communicated by one of the CEO’s lawyers, Nigel Hughes.

Lowenfield was privately charged for conspiracy to commit fraud, misconduct in public office and breach of public trust. Lowenfield made yet another court appearance today.

The CEO is still facing charges by the State. Lowenfield is accused of attempting to tamper with the results of the March 2 elections.
