Prosecution closes case for Industry fatal accident trial
The prosecution has closed its case in the trial of Jonathan Antozak, who is accused of causing the death of a Trinidadian national in an accident in October 2018 at Public Road Industry, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
Dead is 20-year-old Shivanan Brazlon, a student of the University of the West Indies. At the time of her demise, she was staying with her boyfriend at Lot 384 Seventh Field, Cummings Lodge, ECD. The accident occurred on October 10, 2018.
It was reported that the accident occurred at about 17:45h on the day in question after Brazlon and her fiancé, 25-year-old Michael Yearwood, were attempting to cross the said road from north to south.
It was at that time, a motor car bearing registration number PLL 9039, driven by Antozak, a pilot of South Ruimveldt, Georgetown, struck her down.
The UWI student was picked up and immediately rushed to the Woodlands Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
Antozack, who is being represented by Attorney-at-Law Nigel Hughes, is on trial for the offence of causing death by dangerous driving before Magistrate Alisha George at the Sparendaam Magistrates’ Courts.
