Ramdhani hunting semi-final spot

Priyanna Ramdhani, the youngest athlete on the Guyana Team and also in the Girls Badminton Tournament at the second South American Youth Games won her second match in Group B on Wednesday October 4 when she defeated Chilean Michaela Skaric 21-17, 21-14 to book a place in the Quarter-Finals played at the Centro de Entrenamiento Olimpico Santiago Chile.

Ramdhani was not only up against cold conditions of 11 degrees Celsius but also to support of the Chilean fans backing the home player.
The Guyanese is also now ranked number four in South America.
In her Mixed Doubles, Priyanna and her partner, Tyrese Jeffrey played in Group C won their opening match against Panama’s Francisco Hau and Nathalie Fedney 21-6, 21-13 but lost their other two matches against Chile’s Alonso Medel and Mickaela Skaric 21-12, 21-12 and Brazilian’s William Guimaraes and Sania Passos: 21-5, 21-11.
The tournament continues for Priyanna on today when she will be playing for a place in the Medal rounds.
The tournament is being played off in the Group Playoffs, Quarterfinals, Semi-finals & Finals.
There are four groups where the first two winners in the group will go into the Quarter-Finals where the knock out system leading to the finals will come into effect.
