Ramdhani siblings break into Senior rankings

Guyana’s badminton star players Narayan Ramdhani and Priyanna Ramdhani have graduated from the Junior Division (Under-19) of their favourite sport and have moved to the Senior players’ league. With the Coronavirus pandemic affecting all sports worldwide, the racquet-wielding siblings have, to date, played only three International Open tournaments since 2019, but have performed impressively enough to maintain positions in and around the Top 50 in the Pan American Circuit and in the top 300 players in the Badminton World.

There are more than 189 countries and thousands of players who participate in the sport of Badminton.
Compared to Narayan and Priyanna’s three outings over the past two years, the top ranked players have accumulated 30 games in the same period. This just achievement speaks to the quality of the siblings’ performances thus far.
In a statement from the Guyana Badminton Association (GBA), it has been shared that, “I consider our Guyanese players have a great chance in the future (when tournaments recommence after the pandemic) to go a far way. At the moment, as Student/Athletes, they (Narayan and Priyanna) are competing against the professionals, and still can compete at an extremely high standard.”
