Ramnauth stars for Port Mourant in BCB Under-21 

National batsman Rampertab Ramnauth began the cricket season in Berbice with a stroke-filled 79 to help Port Mourant Cricket Club to a victory over Cotton Tree Die Hard.
Playing in the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) Under-21 50-over knockout competition, Port Mourant secured victory by 100 runs at the Port Mourant Community Centre Ground.
Port Mourant won the toss and batted first scoring 207 all out in 36 overs. Ramnauth stroked 79 while Gibran Yacoob and Salim Khan made 28 each.
Cotton Tree Die Hard managed 107 all out, with Rashad Gafoor scoring 23 after claiming three wickets in the first innings.
Former national youth off-spinner Khan claimed 5-39 from 7.4 overs while Yacoob had 4-31 from his six overs.
All matches of this tournament commence at 09:30h.  All matches will be 50 overs per side and played using the Cricket West Indies/International Cricket Council (CWI/ICC) 50-over regulations. The tournament will be played on a knockout basis.

Captains are to be at the venue 20 minutes before the toss or forfeit their right to the toss. This tournament is only for players born on or after August 31, 2005. Teams named first are host and must also provide water. Each team must provide their own lunches. The BCB noted that washed-out matches will be refixed.  No protest will be accepted on umpiring decisions and from teams that have not registered their players with the BCB in 2026.
Walkovers can be claimed half an hour after the scheduled start. The tournament will be played with white balls and coloured clothing. Teams will comply with all decisions made by the BCB during the running of this tournament. Failing to do so may result in disqualification, the Board advised.
In addition, a player cannot represent more than one club in this tournament. Protest fees are $8000. No non-Berbician player is allowed in this tournament. In instances of tied games, a super over will decide the winner.
