Guyanese drag racer Sahadeo Ramsewack produced a record-breaking performance at TracFest 2026 in Trinidad and Tobago last weekend, completing the quarter-mile in 8.958 seconds at 144.4 miles per hour.
According to the Trans Racing Team, the run was the fastest quarter-mile time ever recorded by a Toyota Verossa chassis. It was also the quickest pass achieved by Ramsewack’s car and represented another significant moment for Guyanese drag racing on the regional circuit.
Ramsewack owns and drives the Toyota Verossa under the Trans Racing Team banner. The car was prepared with assistance from Balram Auto Mechanic and Trinidad-based Team Allout, while Techpoint handled the tuning.
TracFest 2026 was staged over two days and attracted competitors to Trinidad and Tobago for the regional motor sport event.
The Trans Racing Team have three Toyota race cars. Ramsewack competes in the Verossa, while Rohan drives a Toyota Altezza that also runs in the eight-second bracket. Prankraj Ramdeo campaigns a Toyota RunX in the 11-second class.
The team has competed at several drag racing events across the Caribbean over the past six months and is scheduled to return to action in Grenada in September.
Away from the track, Ramsewack is the Chief Executive Officer of Trans Pacific Motor Spares and Auto Sale Inc., Ramsewack Investment, Trans Security Solutions Inc and SHS Realty.
