Ravens spring into playoffs

Guardians, Kobras and Ravens recorded victories when action in the GABF Mecca V continued on Wednesday evening at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
Kobras defeated Jets 70- 60 to top Group Two and earn a sport in the playoff round scheduled for Sunday, April 22.

With that win, they now join defending champions Bounty Colts in the semifinals, with two more places to be secured by the remaining teams in the tournament.
Ravens, meanwhile, have inched closer to a semifinal berth in a must-win game against Raiders that had both sides with their backs against the wall.
Ravens prevailed 53-52 in the nail-biter, and there is one more game to play in the group.
In the other match, Plaisance Guardians defeated Half Mile Bulls 90 – 80 to stay in contention for a spot in the playoffs.
Action continues today with two more games: Eagles oppose Royals and Bulls take on Canje Knights.
The Prize Money for MECCA V will see the the top finishers pocketing $600,000 and $400,000 respectively, while third place carts off $200,000.
Individual prizes totalling $200,000 will be shared among the MVP, the player scoring the most points, and the player with the most rebounds.
