Regal Masters, Mikes Pharmacy Masters, HS Masters and Ariel Masters to participate

“Big 4” clash for Trophy Stall title…

Action will continue today at the Everest Cricket Club (ECC) ground on Camp Road, Georgetown with four of Guyana’s top softball teams duking it out for top honours, as lots will be at stake.
The four teams in the tournament are Regal Masters, Mike’s Pharmacy Masters, HS Masters and Ariel Masters.
The specially arranged mini-tournament is part of the Everest Cricket Club Masters’ Team Day of Activities, which will coincide with the club’s ‘IPL finale viewing’ brunch. The event promises lots of action from the first ball.
The inclement weather has currently left the club’s outfield damp, but this will add to the excitement when semifinals’ play is called at 09:30h. The winning semifinalists will play for the Trophy Stall title at 13:00h, while Player of the Final will also receive a trophy, compliments of Trophy Stall.
Regal Masters will begin as favourites because of their recent form. The side is set to feature the destructive Eric Thomas and David Harper, who has proven himself at the back end of the innings. Regal will be hard pressed by a peaking Mike’s Wellman Team, which would see the entertaining Lloyd Ruplall and Eon Lovell continuing their rich run of form.
The determined HS Masters will be looking to prove a point, but they will heavily depend on the bowling pair of Puran Singh and Jagdesh Persaud; while the underdogs, Ariel Masters, will be boosted by Mohamed Rafeek, who will be looking to score big in the opening encounter.
Each of the four teams is familiar with the others, and will be looking to prey on known weaknesses when the first ball bowls off.
Whichever way it goes, one thing is certain: there will be lots of fun.
