Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam) Chairman Devanand Ramdatt was given a warm welcome when he returned to his office on Wednesday.

Ramdatt, after meeting with various heads at the State House in Anna Regina, was escorted by the Regional Vice Chairman Nandranie Coonjah and other regional offices to his office at the Regional Democratic Council (RDC) building where he was well received by the staff.
Ramdatt reassured them that they should not be fearful of losing their jobs, noting that he would be on the job until the new RDC was sworn in.
The Regional Chairman told the media that the door to his office was tampered with while the electricity in his office was disconnected. This, he noted, will not interfere with him performing his duties.
He said that his door was now once again open to the public.
Regional Executive Officer (REO) Dennis Jaikarran after successfully breaking up the RDC in 2019, took away the vehicles of the Chairman and Vice Chairman.
He even closed the door of the Vice Chairman’s office and eventually got them both to vacate their posts and took it upon himself to manage the affairs of the Region with the help of some of his colleagues of the former A Partnership for National Unity/Alliance For Change (APNU/AFC) Government.
