The Police in Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni) are currently on the hunt for a taxi driver accused of raping a teenager on Tuesday night.
Based on information received, the incident occurred just about 23:00h.
Police said that the female teen boarded the suspect’s vehicle and instead of taking her to the desired destination, he drove some distance away where he raped her.
A report was made to the police and the teen has since been medically processed.
Investigations are ongoing.
